- "
HE world is too much with us: late and soon,
- Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers:
- Little we see in Nature that is ours;
- We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
- This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon;
- The winds that will be howling at all hours,
- And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers;
- For this, for everything, we are out of tune;
- It moves us not. -- Great God! I'd rather be
- A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn;
- So might I, standing on this pleasant lea,
- Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn;
- Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea;
- Or hear old Triton blow his wreathèd horn."
- - William Wordsworth
- This is a poem we have to analyze tonight for English. I dreaded having to do so, as poem analysis' are boring for the most part, but after reading it and learning it's meaning, I enjoyed it.
- From what I got out of it, it's about humans not respected nature as much as they should, and how materialistic we have become. It's just refreshing to read a poem that doesn't have to deal with love, or lackthereof, and instead directs action to a thing important to me, nature.
- In other news, I have my anatomy chapter work done! (This deserves a parade)
- Also, my research paper is done! Not turned in.. but done!
- And my anatomy lab practical is tomorrow.. eh. I really am not confident, but I'm hoping for the best.
- And finally, it was 70 degrees today. In December. I was happy to get a break from the chill, but I'm still hoping for a day of snow.. or a week.
- Well, I think that's about it. I shall be on my way!

Tunes for the Student
Since I have to bust my rear end to get this stuff done, I decided Pandora was the best study tool, which it is.
Instead of listening to my same'ole Two Door Cinema Club station (which.. don't get me wrong, is ah-mazing), I decided to type in Gone by *Nsync, since I love the song and the band. Now I'm getting a flood of early 2000's tunes that are making me have nostalgic shaking. I figured I'd share a couple of songs that the newest generation will, unfortunately, never know..
7 Days by Craig David
It's Gonna Be Me by *Nsync
Cry Me a River by Justin Timberlake
Burn by Usher
Foolish by Ashanti
Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon
I'll add more as they come, but this should get you started if you find yourself in a music slump!
And I know I was in Elementary/Middle school when these songs came out, but I still loved them. Just because I liked the Beatles AFTER they had been popular (I wasn't alive at the time!) doesn't mean I like them any less.
Well, time to continue on homework. Doing the last chapter of anatomy, hopefully finishing my paper and then moving onto Latin... phew.

Music on my mind..
I am a gigantic fan of Two Door Cinema Club fan now. HUGE. Of both of the their albums.
Two songs in particular have been on my mind..
Handshake by Two Door Cinema Club
Come Back Home by Two Door Cinema Club
I'm not sure of the meanings, but I just love the beats!
A few other songs would be...
Locked Out of Heaven by Bruno Mars
Shake it Out by Florence and the Machine
Spectrum by Florence and the Machine
Celestial Love by Florence and the Machine
Undercover Martyn by Two Door Cinema
I think that's it for now! Those are just a few I've had on replay - they're impossible to get sick!
Love & Light & Peace,
T. Smith

Stress and the Stars
Ah, back to the old grind. A stressful grind, that is.
Today in anatomy, we were supposed to have all of our notes done for the Endocrine system. The one I haven't started. Whoops.
AND we had a lab quiz on some muscle of our cats we're dissecting. I made a 55. Whoops.
AND we have a quiz tomorrow on how blood travels to heart. Okay.
AND we have homework due Friday on how blood travels to the brain and back, and to the big toe and back. Great.
AND we have a quiz on THAT Monday. YAY.
AND we have three chapters of multiple choice, short answer, AND critical thinking. Due? MONDAY.
AND I have my LOVELY research paper for English/Senior project due Monday. MONDAY.
What does all of this mean? A weekend spent locked up on my computer, tuning out the world, and getting into a realm of focus in which I've never experienced before.
Anatomy was a time for thinking, "What AM I doing with my life? I'm seventeen and feel like I should be starting to dig my own grave. I haven't even begun taking college courses yet."
It was also a time for rebellion. We now have a, 'No eating or drinking in class' (unenforced) rule that was created because of irresponsible, undeserving students in the class. Toby was mad and stressed, as I was, and proceeded to get out a granola bar, eat it, and sprinkle some of the crumbs on the floor. It made us feel better.
Now, back to the topic at hand.
I have always had a minor interest in astrology and horoscopes and what-not. I've also heard of people saying, "Mercury is in retrograde," not understanding what they were saying. I finally decided to google it to see what it meant. It turns out the day I looked it up (Monday, the 26th) was the last day of Mercury in retrograde, which leads to several things being chaotic. A main thing is transportation issues, and, if you remember, I talked about carmeggedan earlier this month - one can't help to think that it's connected. I know not all of it is the truth, but it's neat to think about.
So, I'm in school right now, and I should probably get off and start on my health blog. I don't even want to go to the gym today.

Uneventful Weekend
Ah, nothing new here! I finished my outline and one page draft for my research paper (finally) and now I'm just enjoying the calm day.
I hope you're day is very good as well! I'm sure I'll have more to talk about in the morrow.
Since my picture loathed seeing her and her Baker-boo... here's a picture of JUST Hangar Lake. I seriously wanted to steal her camera.

Frog
I always see this picture in the shop when I pass by it, and finally decided to take a picture of it. How cute was I?
Autumn Days
Ah, it was wonderful 62 by about 2pm. It's cooling off now, but felt wonderful earlier.
The picture here was taking in the driveway of the shop with some special effects. I got a new camera app on my phone that makes my photography look more like photography worth seeing.
Thanksgiving was GREAT! Alex's mom can really cook. I made a very soft (too much evaporated milk) pumpkin pie, flaky biscuits, and pretty much burnt cookies to bring. She said she loved the pie soft and loves burnt cookies, so I wasn't looked down upon!
We started with cheese-filled pupusas, made simply from cornmeal and cheese. I could've eaten ten then and there, but I had other things to eat! She brought out stuffing, mixed/caramelized vegetables (she called them something specific, but I can't remember..), apple pie, the massive, delicious smelling turkey (it hurt, I wanted some so bad), and tinfoil-wrapped tamales. She made three specifically for me (leftovers)! I unwrapped it to find a corn-husk protecting the cornmeal and vegetables inside - it smelt exactly like green tea.
I was in heaven. My want for the delicious turkey went away (until Alex grabbed the leg and the meat slid right off..) and I happily finished the food filled plate. I rested for a bit, as I was super stuffed, and snuck in a piece of apple AND pumpkin pie. I had a great time! I feel so welcomed there by everyone, and love that they consider me apart of their family.
His mom even invited my sister (and probably my only reader), Carey for a Christmas-get-together! (: Is it a date?
Today Alex and I went to the gym for some much-needed workout time. I was 137.4, .3 less than I was a week ago, and Alex said it was probably muscle mass loss.. and I agree. I think I need to focus on toning and muscle building more than cardio, since everytime I go to the gym it's elliptical-elliptical-elliptical.
We also went to TJ Maxx to see if I could find a scarf. I found a super soft, cozy one for.. $125. HAH.
I instead got saffron mango green tea and some guacomolee chips. We went to PetSmart, gazed at some reptiles and rodents, gawked at the adorable cats in need of new homes (I wish..) and were on our way home with pumpkin iced coffee to boot.
It's been a great break. I need to SUPER focus on my research paper tomorrow, as I'm behind, but I'm not stressing too badly. I'm so glad I got that anatomy out of the way early - he didn't give us anything else!
I will end this with some pictures I snapped within the past couple of days. I'm hoping for a camera and a book or two I've been eyeing for Christmas... *COUGH COUGH,* but you know, all in time. (:
